A certain amount of stress is necessary to keep us motivated but when it gets chronic then it can cause health problems of all sorts. When we are in a stressful state, our body adapts by closing down some parts of our systems like the stomach to conserve energy and activating other parts like our heart rate and breathing to get us prepared to fight or run from danger. This is called the ‘fight or flight’ response and is triggered by the Adrenals sending out adrenaline. Once the danger has passed the adrenaline levels return to normal and the Adrenals settle back down. The problem with modern society is so often that people feel constantly under threat from a busy lifestyle, trying to do too much in too short a time and having deadlines to meet. This means the Adrenals are constantly switched on and can become over-stimulated. Applied Kinesiology can check to see if the Adrenals are working too hard and what parts of the body this is affecting. Then measures can be taken to correct the problem quickly with either Homeopathy, Flower Essences or Reiki If there's a particularly difficult situation at work or at home, the stress that this creates can spill over into other areas of life and create anxiety. When there's no identifiable cause, the person often becomes anxious about feeling anxious all the time, and the problem starts to feed off itself. So if you find yourself:-
You may be experiencing anxiety and would probably benefit from a combined treatment based around Applied Kinesiology, combining it with Homeopathy and/or Flower Essences to get to the root of the problem. I would also recommend regular Reiki treatments to help you to relax Everyone feels a bit sad sometimes, it is only natural, but if you are so miserable it’s stopping you from getting on with your life then it may be time to get some treatment. So if you are feeling:-
I may be able to help as I have a large range of treatments available and have helped many others with similar feelings in the past to get more out of their lives. So why not give me a ring for a quick informal chat.
(Seasonal Affective Disorder). Is a specific form of depression that affects people at the same time each year, namely in Autumn and Winter. During the Spring and Summer, people with SAD feel well. Experts now believe SAD is related to a lack of daylight exposure, which explains why people feel well during spring and summer and only start experiencing problems when the days get shorter. Symptoms usually start between September and November and almost always spontaneously disappear with the arrival of spring and the longer daylight hours.
Some people also find their sleep becomes disturbed, they eat less or more than usual and some also experience a lower sex drive. Most of us have panicked with good reason at some time, imagine starting to cross the road when a car suddenly appears and makes no sign of braking, the natural response here is to see the threat, panic and run fast. These panic feelings sets off a chain of events in our body to help us respond quickly which we call the “fight or flight response”. In some people this chain of responses can be triggered by harmless everyday experiences, or worse still, some people experience panic for no apparent reason and completely without warning. One of the common panic triggers is when we come into contact with a phobia.
It's possible to be phobic about anything, but these are particularly common fears:-
When a person with a phobia comes into contact with the thing they're frightened of - or knows that they soon will - they develop some of the more immediate physical symptoms of anxiety. For many people, this is enough to make them completely avoid whatever they're dreading - a whole life can become structured around avoiding the situation or object. But sometimes it's unavoidable and a person with a phobia is forced into a situation they fear. For example, years of someone not going to the dentist ends in the need for emergency treatment and panic often follows. Dreaming seems to be our minds way of processing information about the events of the day and this can sometimes result in the occasional nightmare. The dreamer may feel any number of disturbing emotions in a nightmare, such as anger, guilt, sadness or depression, but the most common feelings are fear and anxiety. Nightmares can have a number of causes, some are caused by drugs or medications, or by physical conditions such as illness and fever. Many people experience nightmares after they have suffered a traumatic event, such as surgery, the loss of a loved one, an assault or a severe accident and the content of these nightmares is typically directly related to the traumatic event and the nightmares often occur over and over. Other people experience nightmares when they are undergoing stress in their waking lives, such as difficulty or change on the job or with a loved one, moving, pregnancy, financial concerns, etc. Finally, some people experience nightmares that seem unrelated to their waking lives at all. When nightmares become regular and/or very distressing, then it may be time to seek help and an initial Homeopathic consultation may help to uncover the underlying causes of the problem or, in the case of nightmares that seem unrelated to everyday events, I would recommend Shamanic Healing, as this is directly related to the world of dreams, or a combination of Reiki and Shamanic Healing. When we are constantly told we are not good enough, this can have a detrimental effect of our confidence and we can start to question ourselves in all areas of our lives. The media, for example, constantly bombard us with pictures of ideal bodies, perfect lifestyles, new cars, beautiful houses, wonderful, exciting, well paid jobs. These 'perfect' people with their ‘perfect’ lives are seen to have happiness, wealth and partners. The subliminal message is 'be like this and you can have these things too' and this creates pressure in most people to try and achieve these goals and when they fall short of the ‘ideal’ they feel not good enough. I like to encourage each person I treat, with whichever therapy I use, to find their own ways of empowering themselves so they will gain confidence in their own abilities to live a happier and more fulfilling life. Loss of a loved one and grief are experiences which are almost certain to happen to each of us sooner or later in life. All parts of our being may be affected, emotional, physical, spiritual and social, but the overriding feeling is one of intense pain from the loss. Like with a physical injury, the recovery and healing process can take time. This period cannot be rushed and varies from individual to individual. When we're grieving, it can be difficult to understand what's happening. Initially, we may have feelings of disbelief, panic, confusion, leading to annoyance, anger and isolation. There's an empty space where before there was a loved one and we then have to learn to adjust to life without that person. In many other countries, families grieve together and sometimes whole villages share in this time, but often in our culture, we have an attitude of ‘just get on with life’ which can add to the feelings of isolation and loneliness felt by the grieving person. I have found it helps to have someone you can talk to who will really listen and for this reason I would recommend Homeopathy because in the consultation, you will be encouraged to talk about your deeper feelings and how your life has been affected. Homeopathic remedies are also very good at helping you to express feelings of grief which may have been locked inside for years and bring them out where they can be healed. An abusive relationship is one where one person mistreats another. Abuse can take on many different forms, including physical, sexual, emotional, and verbal abuse. It can occur in the home, the workplace, in schools, etc. Abusers try to control their victims by manipulating them into submission to their will.
All forms of abuse can be harmful to the person on the receiving end and can also have long term effects your health including emotional, mental, physical and spiritual problems, so don’t put up with it, get help. Both Flower Essences and Homeopathy can help you to see what you can change so you stop being affected by abuse, or help you get over the mental, emotional scars that abuse can leave on your life.
can have long term effects on your health, but don’t despair, Applied Kinesiology and Homeopathy treatments can be very effective in treating these problems, even if they occurred many years ago. So if you can trace your health problems to an accident or physical trauma, come and see me and let’s see if I can help.
Is a common digestive disorder. Symptoms can be quite variable and include :-
IBS can be very distressing and very often stressful situations make it worse. A lot of the clients I have treated for IBS, have been found to have sensitivities to various foods and when these foods are eliminated, their symptoms have improved considerably. Applied Kinesiology can be used to detect which foods may be causing a problem and I suggest combining this with either Homeopathy or Reiki to address the root cause of the stress. Sometimes when we eat the same foods regularly, our body protests and we can develop food sensitivities which can cause a whole host of other problems such as:-
One of the problems with food sensitivity, is it develops slowly over time so you may not realise that certain foods are causing your health problems. The bad news is, it is usually a food you particularly like (simply because you are likely to eat more of it), but the good news is, once the problem food is eliminated the chances are your health will improve quickly and you may even be able to re-introduce the food back into your diet at a later date without causing the same problems. Headaches and migraines can be triggered by many things and it can be difficult to find the root cause sometimes, so here are a few suggestions which may help:-
If you have severe headaches/migraines I suggest you should always visit your doctor to make sure there isn’t an underlying health issue that needs addressing. A large number of women suffer from problems associated with their periods ranging from PMS/PMT, endometriosis, heavy or painful periods, ovarian cysts, menopausal problems etc. and these can cause a lot of discomfort.
I have treated a large number of women using Homeopathy for all types of hormonal problems and it is well worth trying before you consider the more drastic solutions such as a hysterectomy which involves surgery. The skin is the largest organ of detoxification in the body and many forms of skin problems can be due to the body trying to deal with toxins, reacting to something in the environment, or some form of stress. The most common skin problems are:- Acne. This often affects the face and back in young people and can be very embarrassing. It is often linked to hormonal changes and tends to reduce as the hormones settle down. Diet can play a part in helping to reduce the effects and it may be helpful to use Applied Kinesiology to identify any food sensitivities and any food supplements that may help the condition. Homeopathy or Flower Essences can also be helpful to treat the feelings of embarrassment and lack of confidence. Boils. A boil does not normally spring up as a large bump right away. It often starts to appear in the form of a small spot. This spot is usually inflamed and elevated. After a few days or weeks, a boil ripens or grows a yellow head that contains pus. This yellow head is called pustule. Once the pustule appears, you may notice that boils symptoms include a painful or stinging sensation in the infected area. This is especially true if pressure is applied on it. Recurring boils usually indicate an underlying problem which often responds well to Homeopathic treatment. Eczema Nearly half of people with moderate to severe eczema will develop skin rashes in response to foods to which they are sensitive. Applied Kinesiology can be quick and affective in identifying these foods and sometimes removing them will greatly improve the condition. Psoriasis Is a chronic, recurring skin disease which often runs in families, and though the tendency to contract psoriasis is stored in a person's genes, it is doesn’t always develop, although exposure to stress, alcohol, infections, medical treatment, or events such as divorce, bereavement or moving house are thought to be triggers in some susceptible people
I would recommend a combination of Applied Kinesiology to check if there is any problem foods involved together with Homeopathy and Flower Essences to treat the underlying stress which seems to accompany a lot of people with this condition. Shamanic Healing may also be appropriate here if there is a family history of the condition. Reiki also can be a great stress reliever. Rashes Can be caused by a number of things including sensitivity to foods so it is well worth trying Applied Kinesiology if you have a stubborn rash to see if it could be helped by cutting certain foods out of your diet. |
